GFWC Temple Terrace Woman's Club

Home Life Department

TTWC conducted a door-to-door campaign within the City of Temple Terrace for donations to the “Crusade for Cancer” for thirteen years from 1961 through 1974. The “Connie Newton Award” was won by The Club four times and the trophy was given to The Club for outstanding coverage and total donations received.  A Blood Bank was established for citizens of Temple Terrace by members in 1965. In 1969 a $1,000 donation furnished a room at the Salvation Home.

The Home Life's current projects as follows:

February: Red ribbons to Police, Fire, Members, Juniorettes Healthy Heart Awareness (Caruso & Owens) Valentine for Hospice @ Bobbie Sue’s 2 p.m. (Robertson) 2/10/14

March 21: Pillowcase dresses @ Clarann’s (Smith) 1-4 p.m.

April 1: Deadline for Easter plant orders (Owens)

April 8: Easter plants delivered – pick up at Owens & Easter pillows for Hospice (Lopez’s) 10 a.m.

April 11: Create Easter baskets for Hospice (Carol Caruso’s) 2 p.m.

April 23: Annual Health Fair 9:00 a.m.

May 6 & 7: Make baby quilts (Caruso’s).

May 28: Baby Shower – Membership meeting

July 3: Decorate July 4th float.

July 4: July 4th Parade – ride or walk

August 16: Annual Temple Terrace Tea (Caruso).

September 24: Flu shots & Dress for Success

October: Hospice – make fall wreaths (Jane Latina’s ?)

November: Adopt a Family for Thanksgiving dinner.

December: Toys for Children.


Meals on Wheels, Make Baby hats (all knitters), Non Perishable Food Items – every meeting, Make pillowcase dresses.
